Wave Pedals

Get ultimate grip and bike control with our innovative Wave profile.

Most flat pedal profiles are either convex or concave. Wave is a patented hybrid convex/concave shape that promotes an aggressive heels-dropped riding position and gives you a more natural pedal stroke when seated. With Wave, your foot is being held by the shape of the pedal - not just the pins.

It’s time to ride the Wave.

Things you Should Know
  • Convex + Concave = Wave: The front half of the pedal has a concave profile that hugs the ball of your foot for unmatched grip. The back half of the pedal is sloped to promote an aggressive heels-down foot position for more power and control.
  • Angled Pins: Because the Wave design naturally encourages your heels to drop, the pins are installed at an angle to be vertical when riding. This leverages the Wave profile and increases grip - without the need for longer pins.
  • DH-Rated Axle: The Wave pedal uses a proven axle, bushing and bearing configuration for improved reliability — strong enough for all types of riding.
  • 2 year manufacturer warranty.

FAQ

Are Wave pedals lighter than the original OneUp Aluminum Pedals?

A little lighter, yes. Wave pedals weigh 355g per pair, 31g lighter than our original Aluminum Pedals.

Can I swap any parts between the original Aluminum pedals and Wave pedals?

The pins from our original Aluminum Pedal and the pins from Wave Pedals are cross-compatible, but the internals are not.

Do you offer replacement axles if I bend one?

We do not have replacement axles available separately. In our experience, if the axle is damaged, the pedal body has likely sustained enough damage that it warrants replacing.

How often do they need servicing?

We recommend servicing your Wave pedals once a season as a minimum, twice a season if you ride everyday, or anytime you feel your pedals are no longer spinning smoothly.

Do I need any special tools to service my Wave pedals?

The only special tool you need is a OneUp Pedal Bearing Nut Tool, which comes in the box with every pair of Wave pedals.

Why are the pins hollow?

The hollow hex pins are designed to self-clear mud while riding.

Are the pins height adjustable?

No, the pins are not height adjustable. The only way to run shorter pins is to install pins from our original Aluminum pedals with the washers supplied in the Pin/ Washer kit.

Why are the pedal pins angled in the pedal body?

The pins are angled to leverage the shape of the pedal body and offer maximum grip.

Is the Wave pedal rated for DH riding?

Yes, Wave pedals are rated for use on everything up to DH bikes and ebikes.

Are these pedals compatible with Crank boots?

Yes.

Great Products would buy again

"These pedals stick or rather my shoes stick to the pedals. Also OneUp stands behind there products."

Michael N. (5/5)

Top notch flat pedals

"Coming from the pre-existing alloy pedals, these feel to have a little bit better pedal/shoe traction. But most notably, the lack of bearing buldge on the inside of the pedal. Not that that was a deal breaking, but its a nice improvement. Clean esthetics, narrow leading edge, and the milled grooves go overlooked. As always, easily serviceable products is the icing on top."

Kirby H. (5/5)

"Great looking and an awesome platform"

Grip!!!

"Great pedals, lots of grip and large enough to support my full shoe width. They feel very locked in and the pins are replaceable. Now is just the test of time."

New favorites

"Great pedals-really great combination of concave and convex, plus they look fantastic!"

Trent W. (5/5)

OneUp Wave pedals

"Amazing flats. If you ride with proper technique, your feet are attached almost as good as clip-ins (IMHO). Insanely good grip and great (large) platform area for comfort. I just got another pair for my other bike. Don't hesitate; just get 'em!"

Q&A

Are the Wave pedals compatible with carbon cranks? I think the older aluminum pedals were not.
Yes the Wave pedals are fully carbon crank compatible.
I love my purple one up pedals! I want to get an orange set to go with my other bike, but they actually look more yellow. I have an orange stem for deity and wanted to confirm they would be similar in color. TIA
Hey Demetra, glad to hear you are fan of the wave pedals! In person, I'd say the orange colour is nice and orange. It'll does look lighter than the deity stem from photos I can see online. I'd say go for it! We have a good return system if you aren't a fan. Alternatively, checking them out at a local dealer is also a good move.
Bought a set of these in bronze from Erik's Bike shop in St. Louis Park, MN. I have extra pins but the tool mentioned on this site was not included. I'm assuming I need to buy one now if I want to service my pedals. Should I go back to the shop I bought them from or can I buy from you directly? I'm a little bummed to learn I didn't get one when it sounds like I should have. Unless, of course, I'm misunderstanding something. Thanks!
Hi Quinton, thanks for reaching out. You'll need this to rebuild your pedals - https://www.oneupcomponents.com/products/pedal-bushing-tool For free shipping on that order, you can apply the below code at checkout - Free-Shippin'-2026 I am sorry that you didn't know about this tool, but appreciate the pro-activeness to have everything ready when you need to rebuild the pedals.
Are there any discounts for employees at Erik's Bike Shop? I am the service manager at the coon rapids location.
Hey Andy! Please apply to our pro program. You will find this at the bottom of our webpage.
Are the wave pedals going to be offered in a composite material? I have the one up composite pedals and I’ve found they’re much more forgiving and do not catch as much in the heavy rocks and chunk as aluminum pedals. The aluminum tends dig in and catch.
Hey Art! It isn't on our product road map at the moment, but I will pass this feedback along to our engineering team. Hopefully it will be something in the future
