FAQ

How long is the warranty period on this product? What does it cover?

OneUp Hubs have a 2-year warranty on all components, excluding bearing wear.

How regularly should I service my Hubs?

Hub service intervals vary depending on your riding frequency and the climate. Once annually is recommended for average usage, and as regular as 3 months is possible with heavy usage. To check if your hubs need servicing, remove the wheel and spin it in your hands by holding the end caps. If it feels or sounds rough and notchy, it's likely time for a service. It is also recommended to clean and regrease your rachets as regularly as possible.

Does the OneUp Hub use a DT Swiss™ ratchet?

OneUp Hubs use a OneUp-specific ratchet and spring. You cannot use a DT Swiss™ Ratchet in a OneUp Hub.

Will OneUp's SRAM XD® freehub work with my SRAM XDr® cassette?

Yes, our XD® Driver is compatible with both SRAM XD® and XDr® cassettes. For SRAM XDr® cassettes, simply remove the pre-installed 1.85mm spacer.

Why do OneUp Hubs use a machined drive ring over a threaded option?

CNC Machining the drive ring directly into the hubshell eliminates a common failure point, where a threaded steel drive ring can strip and tear the threads out of the hubshell, while also saving weight.

Where are & how do I read the hub dimensions to measure spoke length?

The Hub dimensions are on the product pages and lasered onto the center of the hubs.

PCD stands for Pitch Circle Diameter and refers to the distance between opposing spoke holes on the hub flanges (from the center of the hole).

Flange Dist refers to the distance from the center of the flange to the center point of the hub.

L stands for Left & R stands for right.

These four measurements, along with your hub spacing (110 or 148mm) and the ERD of your rim is all you need to measure spoke length. Please use your preferred spoke calculator to complete the measurement!

148 rear hub

"Upgraded my stock giant trance with this hub. It has been great for my enduro and downhill, and looks hot too"

Andrew H. (5/5)

Good hub, bad inventory practices

"Hub works fine, finally. The one I was initially given had the old ratchet design included. Stripped, slipped, skipped etc in the first few days of use. Was advised by csr that this was the case with the older ratchets. Ok, so why deliver them to customers? Any how, warranty was reasonablly straight forward but then a system glitch didn't tell me when i could pick up my new ratxhets. Suffice to say, I've lost more days of riding due to the brand new hub. . . Than i ever did with the old hub that exploded (yes, I'm including the days waiting for the new hub and rebuilding the wheel). Bit of a disappointment for me, as this was the exact reason I decided NOT to go with a used dt swiss hub. I understand crap happens. . . But when the crap is, by your own admission, due to a sub-par older design that you're still apparently delivering? That sucks. Now that everything is working properly (cleaned and greased new ratchts etc etc), the hib works fine."

Long term review

"I have had this hub for a year now and it is fantastic. Identical to a DT Swiss but from a brand that stands by their product. I had problems with the ratchet engagement just a few months ago and their warranty support is amazing. I filled out the warranty page info on a Saturday and I had the parts to repair it on the following Thursday. Great customer service!"

Victoria M. (5/5)

Love these!

"Great hubs. Building a wheelset on these was really easy as all the measurements are already done for you. Life is good building on these!"

Jack S. (5/5)

One very minor gripe

"For the price and at this weight, you will not find any better. Period. This hub has been reliable and the engagement is more than sufficient. My only minor complaint is with the freehub seal. I do most of my riding in the deserts of Colorado’s western slope, and the super fine dust works its way into the ratchet fairly easily. If you have even an inkling of mechanical aptitude this is not an issue, it is very easy to take apart and clean. Plus, oneup even includes freehub grease with the hub, so you have everything necessary to keep it running smoothly (I did not expect them to do this but am sure glad they did, that’s one reason I’m a lifelong customer). But if you’re the type of person to neglect routine maintenance, then maybe look elsewhere"

Peter (4/5)

Awesome hubs!

"I had these laced up to some DT Swiss hoops to try out. I am super impressed… Light, simple to service and economical!"

John (5/5)

Great value from an even greater company

"Great hubs from a great company. They stand by their products which has allowed me to have confidence when purchasing any of their products. Been rocking their posts for years and look forward to rocking their hubs for many years to come."

Michael C. (5/5)

Great affordable/reliable hub option

"Bearings are a bit stiff out of the box but after a few rides they seem to have broken in."

Justin S. (5/5)

The right choice

"Super sick, well-made, not just another off the shelf wheel set."

Cameron C. (5/5)

Rear hub

"Super good quality of the parts."

Q&A

I have stripped out two sets of ratchets I was just wondering if there is a fix for this any feedback would be appreciated thank you.
Hi Craig, Sorry for the slow response here. I just wanted to check in and see if someone from the team has already reached out to you about this? Let me know if not and I can help you out. Cheers, Tom
I am a Clydesdale rider I was wondering if you guys are going to offer the ratchets in a more durable material like steel for more durability thanks
Hey Craig, thanks for reaching out. Have you had trouble with ratchets stripping out? I don't think we have plans for a steel ratchet set.
Can I la e the hubs with Berd spokes? would it void warranty
Hi Carlos, Thanks for your message, I'm happy to help.  Unfortunately not, our hub flanges don't have enough space to use Berd spokes. You would certainly void the warranty. Please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.  Cheers,
How do these hold up to ebike power?
Hi Ian, You'll be fine to use our hubs on your e-bike! Just be sure to keep on top of your servicing to keep everything performing optimally. Let us know if you have any other questions at all.
I have these OneUp hubs on my mountain bike and love everything about them. I'd love to put a set on my gravel bike. Do you plan to release a non-boost set (12x142, 12x100 spacing)
Hi there Jake! We don't have plans to come out with hubs spec'd like this just yet, but thank you for reaching out. I am stoked to hear you are fan of our hubs.
